Learning the Skill of Stress Shifting Can Change your Life

Here's why learning how to shift stress can change your life. Have you ever felt as if you did not have enough time, were overwhelmed, frustrated, or just too tired? These are common feelings that many people often feel. Sometimes this happens so often that they feel as though being stressed has become the new normal.
So, the question is how can we stay calm, centered, and productive each day to not only survive, but achieve our goals, be healthy, and be happy. This is why learning how to proactively deal with stress by learning how to shift it really matters. Being chronically stressed shuts down our learning, our creativity, our energy, and keeps our body in a state of inflammation which leads to chronic disease. By facing our stress with skillfulness, we can return to our center, our strength, our creativity, and our well-being.
Learning how to Shift Stress with awareness, mindfulness and the many shifting tools that are part of the Stress Shifter tool box, will lead to a powerful transformation to stay in the "Flow."
I invite you to enroll in our four week online course "Learning Stress Shifter Skills to Be more Calm, Centered, and Creative" that will teach you the four-step Stress Shifting Process. Each week you will learn new skills that you can practice for the rest of your life. As you learn how to use these stress shifting skills, you will gain confidence to face daily challenges with a new perspective and resilient creative energy to produce more satisfying results. The Life Skill of Stress Shifting can be applied to stressful situations you experience at home, work, finances, health, or any area of your life.

Vitamin G Reduces Stress
By Lindsay Byrd Leimbach
Vitamin G is for a Vitamin of Gratitude, a state of thankfulness and/or appreciation that offers positive health benefits. When we take (practice) Vitamin G, the gratitude contributes to one’s overall sense of well-being, improves emotional health, and leads to less stress, better sleep and less negative emotions.
Take Vitamin G first thing in the morning. Write down or repeat to yourself 3 things you are grateful for as you start your day. Vitamin G will prime your day to be in a positive mindset.
Then, don't forget to take Vitamin G right before bed; you could keep a Vitamin G journal. Look back on your day, take notice of the good. Feel the bodily sensation of gratitude. Let the relaxed appreciation be part of your breathing. This will help you organize and bring forth in your mind what is positive in your life. Practice learning to remember the good and joy of your day. It can be remembering very simple things, such as a friend's smile, your pet's happiness to see you, or the beautiful fall leaves in your yard. Practicing Vitamin G will also help shift the mind from a worried state to a peaceful state before falling to sleep. This will foster a better night of sleep.
So I ask you, "Got Vitamin G?

Being Grateful Helps the Mind and the Body
Research published by the Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley from Indiana University professors Joel Wong and Joshua Brown on “How Gratitude Changes You and Your Brain” identifies how gratitude might actually work on our minds and bodies. They discuss these four insights from their research suggesting what causes the psychological benefits of gratitude:
1. Gratitude unshackles us from toxic emotions
2. Gratitude helps even if you don’t share it
3. Gratitude’s benefits take time
4. Gratitude has lasting effects on the brain

Giving & Receiving with Gratitude
By Lissa Coffey CoffeyTalk.com
It was easier to do a friendly thing than it was to stay and be thanked for it.Louisa May Alcott, Little Women
For many of us, giving comes easy – we are natural “givers.” But for some reason it is not as easy for us to be on the receiving end. We feel awkward, uncomfortable. Why is that? Do we feel that we are undeserving?
Look at it this way: by receiving a gift, or accepting someone’s gratitude graciously, we are actually giving one of the most valuable gifts of all! We are GIVING that person the opportunity to GIVE! Allow them that. Without receiving, there is no giving – the two go hand in hand. So accept the “thank yous” that come your way with a loving heart – and enjoy how good it feels to be appreciated. And you’ll also see how good it feels for that other person to express gratitude.
